Portraits Of Community Action
This project, filmed on location in Redwood City, highlights the struggles faced by a local community dealing with unsafe and unfit living conditions. Through a blend of interviews, drone footage, and on-the-ground “B-roll” visuals, we captured the hardships these residents endure as they work to secure grants and loans to repair their homes and improve their standard of living.
Oakland Is A FAB City
In partnership with Fab Cities, the City of Oakland embarked on an initiative to address the growing housing crisis for low-income individuals and families. This video features an interview with the Mayor of Oakland coupled with drone footage and on-the-ground tours, explores Oakland’s diverse and dynamic business landscape. This project showcases Oakland’s booming economy and the need to ensure that all its residents, regardless of income, have access to quality housing
Bryon Malik Photography
These videos were commissioned by Oakland-based portrait photographer Bryon Malik to promote his business and showcase the unique qualities of his work. The first video highlights the range and quality of service he offers, providing a behind-the-scenes look at how he leads his subjects through his process. The second video, featuring Bryon’s family and studio, emphasizes his family values and warm, playful nature with his wife and son.
Assinyeola Music Publishing
Commissioned by Assinyeola Music Publishing, this photo shoot draws inspiration from the iconic hip-hop album “The Firm”. The images aim to capture the essence of Assinyeola’s mission to create restorative justice-focused content that heals multigenerational trauma through the power of music. These images reflect the boldness of the organization’s work, blending artistry with the drive to expand the relatability of social justice issues.
Fatherhood Summit
The Alameda County Fathers Corps (ACFC) commissioned this video to introduce and set the tone for their yearly Fatherhood Summit in Alameda, California. Highlighting the organization’s mission to empower and support fathers, the video captures ACFC’s work in promoting father-friendly services, advocating for father-specific programming, and celebrating the critical role fathers play in their families and communities.
Jazz Swings Mural
This video, commissioned to document the public unveiling of a vibrant building-wide mural, celebrates the life and legacy of Oakland youth Jazz Amira. Created by local artist Robin Gibson, the mural serves as a powerful tribute, blending art and community to honor Jazz’s memory. Additionally the mural raises awareness for a memorial scholarship established to give youths the opportunity to engage in and study the arts.
Bay Cities Wine Rumble
The Oakland Wine Club commissioned this video to capture the excitement and energy of their premier event, the Bay Cities Wine Rumble. Featuring over 50 winemakers from across the Bay Area, this event brought together a diverse community of wine lovers, producers, sellers, and marketers. The event video highlights the celebration and Oakland’s important role in the cultivation and distribution of top-quality wines.
Watermelon Couch Project
Highlighting an interview with Oakland-based multimedia artist James Shields, he reflects on his journey across America with his art installation, “Watermelon Couch.” Handcrafted to resemble a watermelon, the couch serves vehicle for conversations as Shields travels from state to state. This video delves into the artist’s exploration of the stereotypes, cultural significance, and historical impact of the fruit.
